Wk 13 — Essay 2 — Art!
At the beginning I thought art can be anything you thought it was from your perspective. I felt that it can be anything such as looking at a tree or looking at the sun set. Nature as a whole is art. I saw felt that video games can be art as well, the design of it, how the characters look, the map of the city or fictional world in the video game. Also the obvious such as paintings, drawings, and sculptures were things I felt was art as well.
I feel like it has changed a bit and made me appreciate art in general. Looking at people’s art pieces made think about how long it took them to make it and others questions such why did they make it? What were they feeling when they made this certain art piece? Looking at street made me respect the artist even more because it such a difficult to work on. I was struggling with just trying to draw a sketch for one of our recent art homework. I couldn’t imagine all the hard work and dedication it takes for an artist to make an outstanding art piece or sculpture that takes so much time out of their day. The craft and commitment of successful artists made me realize that they need to be appreciated more.
Art to me is anything you want it to be while you enjoy the look of it and creativity behind it. I feel like every art piece has a meaning to it or a story that makes it interesting. I also enjoyed just looking at other people work on Medium, there was drawings that I really likes and paintings as well. I also feel that art is supposed to make you feel some type of way of emotions.
Being a Business Economics major and hoping to be able to work for a well known company such as a data analyst. Hoping to get to work with Amazon, Microsoft, or any company that is huge in the market. I plan on working for companies such as these so they can expand my opportunities and skills that would help for the future. I feel like art can’t really be applied to my work of field, but the creativity within the employee can be help.
Concept are or comic book art is what makes me enjoy art. Concepts art for shows or movies I like watching is always fascinating to see. You get to see the ideas of what were they thinking before the final product. They picture it before actually filming the scene. Comic books such as Marvel always has very detailed artwork within their comics. It just amazing to look at and gets me to want drawing a sketch of it.
I feel like art does matter in a way because it opens up your creative mind that people hardly tap into. It’s important to have a artistic mindset because it makes you enjoy life more. If life didn’t have art it would boring because there wouldn't be creativity to keep us entertain. Without any art, there wouldn’t be enjoyment of the piece and the history behind it.
The quote “a great nation deserves great art” is a slogan by the National Endowment of the Arts, I agree with this quote by a nation having some creativity behind them will make them great. You need to have good creative ideas to keep a nation going.
Art is a unique subject that I feel it should be appreciated more. This class really enjoyed art and the class in general. I always looked forward to the class meeting because this was the only class where we had our cameras on and talk with our classmates. It was class where we can share our thoughts and ideas which made really enjoy this class. Art would help with being creative onward with my career and life.
